Healthy Vegetarian Lunch Box

I used to think it was really difficult to pack a healthy packed lunch for my children because it is so easy to reach for the biscuits and crisps but this lunch box I made for my son is super simple and healthy. We are a family or meat eaters but he doesn’t really like things such as ham or other sliced meats that you may normally have for lunch.

School Lunch Ideas – Cheese and Sweetcorn Muffins

It is no secret that I love making packed lunches for my kids, I think I must be in a minority! I’m able to make fun and healthy lunches by being organised and preparing a few things in advance. These cheese and sweetcorn muffins are great for their lunch boxes and can be frozen. I prepare the lunch before I go to bed so I’m not rushing around in the morning, the muffins defrost over night in the fridge so they will ready to eat by lunch time the next day.

Back To School Lunches – Hartleys Jelly Review

My daughter has just started her first year of school (sob) and my son is in nursery. After the first two weeks of doing the school and nursery runs, I realise I’m not the perfect, organised mum that I thought I would be!

  • Have school uniform washed and ironed before bed – Fail! I’m up late at night ironing.
  • Get to school on time – Fail!  We were 10 minuteswq late on the first day.
  • Make mum friends in the playground – Fail! I’ve come to terms that I will forever be socially awkward.
  • Make everyone presentable in the morning – Fail/success! The kids look clean and well dressed. I however, look like one of The Twits… No wonder no one wants to be my friend…!
  • Lunches – Success! It’s no secret that I like making packed lunches but I thought I would struggle now they both have them.

Magic Wand Lunch Box

At the weekend I picked up a new lunch box at Poundland, it fits everything in perfectly! My daughter is obsessed with all things maic and fairies so that is the inspiration for today’s lunch.

I have used small wooden kebab sticks, small flower cookie cutter and eye picks. It took under 10 minutes to make.

  • Bread, ham and cheese magic wand
  • Green grapes
  • Strawberries
  • Tortillas

Flower Lunch Box Ideas

I have been posting pictures of my 3 year old daughter’s packed lunches on my Facebook page for quite a while but I have never put them on my blog so here is one!

When she first started nursery, she had their cooked meals but after a few weeks it came apparent that she wasn’t enjoying them. So she has been having packed lunches ever since!

I don’t have any fancy equipment, just a few cookie cutters, eye picks and plastic pots. All of the lunches take under 10 minute and just me a bit of creativity and imagination! I also try and make them cheap and keep waste to a minimum. They include stuff she likes (she changes her mind everyday!) and at least one thing she either hasn’t tried or isn’t that keen on.

This lunch was inspired by the biscuits she made the day before and insisted to have it for lunch at school to show all her friends.

  • Ham and cheese sandwich
  • Pepperoni
  • Kiwi fruit
  • Homemade jam biscuit
