Two Ingredient Flat Breads

These are great to have with so many different things. We have them to go with curry, for tuna melts, cut up and used for dipping in soups and sauces, and I even put them in packed lunches. The possibilities are endless!

250g self raising flour

125ml warm water

1. Pour the water and flour into a large bowl. Mix together with a fork until it begins to form into a dough. Knead with your hands for around 5 minutes. Split into even balls and roll with a rolling pin until flat.
2. In a large pan, heat a little oil on a low heat. Cook the flat breads for 5 minutes on each side or until they start to brown and crisp.

  1. I was in Egypt a while ago, and visited some friends who showed me how to make these breads! The difference was that they cooked theirs on what looked like a hubcap over an open fire outside, but I can tell you they tasted great!

  2. I love flatbreads! I love how easy and cheap they are to make at home. I’ve done them before with plain flour but never self-raising, so I’m going to have to give these a go and see if I like them better. 🙂

  3. Now i’m really curious, I’m gluten free and I wonder if I could do this with gluten free baking mix? They look delish and simple, something I could take with me on the go, or to make a sandwich, gluten free sandwich bread isn’t my favorite! Perhaps I’ll try it. Pinning!
