Do you ever get stuck in a rut of just buying something ready made from the shop instead of making it yourself? This is exactly what I have been doing with naan bread! When I found out they were incredibly cheap and easy to make, I haven’t brought any since.
I was actually supposed to be making a dish to fit in with Chinese New Year but didn’t realise I had run out of 5 spice until I started making it (I’m kinda tired)!!
It was pretty delicious without it but if you do want to try it just add 1 tbsp of Chinese 5 spice. I’ve used pork loins but can use which ever cut or even meat you wish.

Lamb is a great source of protein, zinc and iron. Recently I was asked to create a recipe using Welsh Lamb. It is excellent quality with its certified PGI status that guarantees that the meat has been reared and prepared to the highest standard.
The lamb I received was a very lean cut. It tasted lovely and tender in my slow cooked lamb biryani and completely debunked the myth that lamb is a fatty meat.

My first experiment was pulled pork. It’s a dish that all my family love but I have never attempted to make it myself.
The pork joint leg joint cost £2.80 for 1.9kg and I completely underestimated how much it would make. It gave the four of us (two hungry adults and two toddlers), enough for three different meals.

I recently brought a lot of reduced bags of carrots from Asda for 5p, I have frozen some for meals or snacks during the week and the rest I’m making a soup with. Carrot and coriander is one of my favourite soups to make because it doesn’t require much preparation!
